A Mental Health Care Plan can make online psychology sessions more affordable by allowing a portion of the fee to be reimbursed through Medicare.
How Medicare rebates work
To access Medicare rebates for your online psychology sessions, you will need:
A valid GP referral letter
A Mental Health Care Plan
A Medicare card
Once you have these, you can access up to 10 reduced-cost psychology sessions per calendar year. You will pay the full session fee upfront, then claim a Medicare rebate directly yourself, with the rebate amount deposited into your nominated bank account. The difference between the session fee and the rebate amount is known as the gap fee.

How do I claim my rebate?
