Can I access psychology support with an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP)?

People with an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP) and a valid referral from their GP or specialist may be eligible for Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions with eligible AHPRA-registered psychologists.

What is an Eating Disorder Plan?

An Eating Disorder Plan is a Medicare-supported treatment plan designed to help people living with an eating disorder access multidisciplinary care, including psychology and dietetic services.

Eligible clients may be able to access:

  • Up to 40 Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions

  • Up to 20 Medicare-subsidised dietetic sessions

over a 12-month period, subject to clinical reviews and Medicare requirements.

How do I use my Eating Disorder Plan with My Mirror?

1. Obtain an Eating Disorder Plan and referral

Speak with your GP or specialist to discuss your eligibility for an Eating Disorder Plan and obtain a referral for psychology services.

2. Send us your referral

Email your Eating Disorder Plan referral to our support team at [email protected].

3. We'll prepare your account

Once we receive your referral, our team will review the information and set up your account so eligible Medicare rebates can be applied to your psychology sessions.

Do I need reviews during my Eating Disorder Plan?

Yes. Eating Disorder Plans include regular reviews with your treating healthcare team to monitor progress and determine eligibility for ongoing Medicare-supported treatment.
